Why Cool Dog Teez Runs on Print-On-Demand (And What That Means for You)
Share
A lot of people don't realize Cool Dog Teez runs on a print-on-demand model, so let me actually explain what that means and why we built it this way instead of the traditional retail route.
No Guessing Games
A traditional shop has to guess ahead of time: how many mediums, how many of each color, how many will actually sell before the trend fades. Guess wrong and you're either sold out of the size someone actually needed, or sitting on boxes of stock that never move. On-demand skips that entirely — nothing gets made until someone actually orders it.
What That Means for You
- The full catalog stays available. We're not limited by what fits in a storage unit, so older designs don't just quietly disappear because they didn't sell fast enough.
- Less waste. Nothing gets printed on the hope it sells. Every item made has a buyer attached to it already.
- Room for niche and custom designs. A design doesn't need to sell a thousand units to be worth offering, which is part of why we can say yes to smaller, more specific requests — team gear, one-off custom pieces, whatever it is.
The Trade-Off, Honestly
It's not instant. Since your order gets made after you place it, there's production time built in before it ships — it's not sitting pre-packed on a shelf. That's the trade for getting something made specifically for your order instead of pulled from a pile of identical pre-made stock.
It's a slower model, on purpose. We think it's the better one.
